the north bay and its was wet. i could barely see how we 1 0 1 a much different story this evening. highway 37 is looking good but it was a gorgeous day in the north bay but still some areas seeing the fax. let me show you video. some of the vineyards in sonoma county earlier this afternoon. you can see that some of these plants are under water. and however, the vineyard keepers are saying that it is not that bad for this time of year. spring season would be a bit different but they are not going to feel the impact of all that rainfall. as of right now,

>> thousands of previously unpublished boy scouts of america files that detail suspected sexual abuse by employees and volunteers have been posted to an online database. grant lodes is standing by with where to find it. and where the accused offenders are here in the bay area. grant? >> these are called perversion files. the los angeles times published the data base - you can see detailed information on boy scouts of america employees and volunteers who have been removed from the organization for suspected sexual abuse. the database includes a nation-wide map pinpointing suspected molestors - there are more than five thousand files or cases since the 1940's. the database includes volunteer the men were affiliated with troups in from santa rosa, san to san jose. also san francisco, sunnyvale, concord, richmond, and other locations. the most common issue was

gina eunice wore an orange issued jump suit. >> i know my rights >> reporter: the last time we saw her on camera. was when police put cuffs on her for a deadly dui accident on the twin peaks look out. police say eunice ran over 56-year old yuee yao. killing her. and then took off. her attorney says the charges don't match her clients character. >> sot pam herzig never been in trouble before and a quarter short of graduating from college, there are things family going through that prob has a lot to do with the full picture of how everything happened the way that it did. >> reporter: while she did not elaborate on those circumstances, the attorney did add that eunce is studying to become a police officer. the judge set her bail at 2- million dollars. if she posts it. she must wear a scram device - which makes sure she does not drink alcohol and is not allowed to drive. her family and friends offered no comment. the victims son told kron 4. how devestating this loss is. >> from tuesday i had the perfect family a perfect family, a perfect mother now, everything is gone

>> snow storms across the sierra have been causing big headaches for drivers the past few days. this is a live look from donner summit. kron 4's charles clifford in the mountains. >> reporter: it's been snowing consistently for almost a week now in the sierra and today was no exception. caltrans is requiring snowchains for drivers along interstate 80 between kingvale and the donner lake interchange. here's why... this is a camera shot from

the donner summit. you can see it's snowy and very slow... going wednesday afternoon. this is a few miles further to the east in truckee, pretty slow here as well. you can see cars trying to exit there in truckee. along highway 50, which runs to and from south lake tahoe, chain restrictions are in effect from 9 miles east of placerville to meyers. this is look along 50, in meyers. you can see traffic is pretty much at a standstill. a few miles away in south lake tahoe, you can see big fat snow flakes falling here and a snowplow clearing the road. finally, the sierra avalanche center says there is still considerable danger of avalanches in the higher elevations around lake tahoe. they say that all of this new snow is now sitting on top of an older unstable snow pack and that skiers and anyone in the backcountry should be extra carefull. especially around slopes that are 32 degrees or steeper. charles clifford kron 4 news. >> jacqueline: the rain and the snow could largely come

weather. >> jacqueline: there are still a number of severe storms in pennsylvania, new york. right now, a number of delays at the nation's busiest airport. la guardia, jfk, philadelphia, newark. show you the worst is over pennsylvania and towards new-york. we are also seeing heavy rainfall over new york city for this will continue over the next 24-36 hours. the pink indicating winter weather advisories with a storm warning over pennsylvania and new york with snowfall rates of 1 in. per hour, overnight. we could see an additio 2 1 ft. of

home. >> "his last actions was leaving this fire station, this was his home. he was here all the time. it was only natural after the body was released that he be brought back where it started . >> started." kaczowka and 43-year-old lieutenant mike chiapperini were both west webster firefighters. they were shot christmas eve while responding to a fire. the two men were good friends. "tomasz was quiet. >> he was quite te... he did his job. pretty much unnoticed. didn't look for thanks or anything like that. he just did what needed to be done. chip was. his personality was as such that he would make you laughin the worst of situations, or he would find something to laugh about.and. it naturally. if >> reporter: he did it naturally." amidst their pain and grief-- the west wesbster firefighters returned to work the next day - on christmas. "we want them to return to a point of normalcy as quickly

as possible. obviously it's not going to be quick. the first few runs they go out on, quite frankly, they may be looking over their shoulder, but. at some point in time this organization had to get back to what we do." and >> reporter: after 36 hours of filling in for west webster area fire departments left and west webster pulled in-- knowing if needed. they had the support of the community and their brother firefighters. >> "we're all family, brothers and sisters. it's going to be a long time before this department gets over this. i understand and if they need us to help out we'll be here." >> vicki: again, that was angela hong reporting. the funeral for lieutenant mike chiapperini's will be held this coming sunday. tomasz kaczowka will be laid to rest the next day. >> vicki: with the fiscal deadline just days away. the president is cutting his christmas vacation short.

>> vicki: now for today's market update. stocks closed down after a weak holiday shopping report sent shares of major retailers lower. on wall street. the dow fell 24-points. to end its third straight session with a loss. the nasdaq lost 22-points to fall below 3-thousand. and the s-and-p 50 dropped six points. we're getting another sign that the housing market is picking up steam. the latest reading of the closely followed s&p-case- shiller index shows home prices were up more than four percent in october, compared to a year earlier. that's the biggest percentage gain in more than two years. but, it's important to note, according to the index, prices are still down 29 percent from the peak

chain restrictions in effect along both interstate 80 and highway 50 through the sierra. let's start by taking a look at 80. caltrans is requiring snowchains for drivers along interstate 80 between kingvale and the donner lake interchange. here's why... this is a camera shot from the donner summit. the snow let up this evening around sunset, but it's still very slick out there. you can see west bound traffic is still at a standstill. along highway 50, which runs to and from south lake tahoe, chain restrictions are in effect from 9 miles east of placerville to meyers. this is look along 50, in meyers. you can see there's still a lot of snow on the roadway and there's a snowplow working to clear it off. this is a shot from south lake tahoe, the road is looking clear here but slippry here. finally, the sierra avalanche center says there is still considerable danger of avalanches in the higher elevations around lake tahoe. they say that all of this new snow is now sitting on top of an older unstable snow pack and that skiers and anyone in the backcountry should be extra carefull. especially around slopes that are 32 degrees or steeper. in the newsroom, charles >> vicki: a massive winter and severe storm system that plowed across the midwest is

moving eastward. today, snow piled up from ohio to the north east. the storm is being blamed for at least six deaths. you can see a car driving through heavy snowfall in pennsylvania. and in parts of arkansas. snow made it difficult for drivers to get around. blizzard warnings have been in effect across indiana and ohio amid wind gusts of 30 miles an hour that blanketed roads and windshields with snow. this is snow blanketing over indiana. even the snowplows have had trouble dealing with the snowy conditions. there were reports. four state plows slid off slick roads. in some parts of indiana, snow was falling at the rate of three inches an hour. and this is video of a towercam in downtown detriot. as the snow storm moves through the state today. just look at the flag blowing away. and parts of oklahoma are digging out from a christmas winter storm. you can see the snow and high winds in this video shot from inside a car in custer city yesterday. with temperatures still below freezing in much of oklahoma, many roads remain slick and snowy. those dangerous conditions contributed to several big
